Job Description
The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) is recruiting to fill several Board Certified (BC) / Board Eligible (BE) Psychiatrist opportunities, to include Adult Psychiatry, Gero-Psychiatry, Psychosomatic (Emergency Department / Consult Liaison), Women's Healthcare, Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team, and Tele-Psychiatry, with possible assignment locations at West Los Angeles (WLA) Medical Center, Ambulatory Care Centers in Sepulveda and Los Angeles (Downtown) Campuses, or at our Los Angeles and Northern / Coastal Community Based Outpatient (CBOC) Clinics in Gardena, Bakersfield, Lancaster, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara. The VAGLAHS is the largest integrated healthcare organization in the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 1a facility serving Veterans throughout Kern, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. Outpatient clinics are located in Gardena, San Gabriel, San Luis Obispo, East Los Angeles, Lancaster, Oxnard, Santa Maria, and Santa Barbara. VAGLAHS directs the Department of Veterans Affairs’ largest educational enterprise and serves as a major training site for medical residencies sponsored by the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and USC School of Medicine and Advanced Practice Nursing Programs sponsored by local universities. As a VA Psychiatrist, you will work on a multidisciplinary team, including primary care, to provide coordinated, integrated, rehabilitative and restorative mental health care, with the goal of helping eligible Veterans achieve and maintain the highest level of functioning and independence. Major duties and responsibilities include: Diagnoses and treat a wide variety of severe mental and substance use disorders and uses recovery-oriented principles; Teaches a variety of trainees and must be eligible for a faculty appointment; Provides clinical services in a virtual modality, including video telehealth, patient/provider secure messaging, telephone visits, and remote review of electronically forwarded medical records. Work Schedule (Tour of Duty): Multiple schedules, Full-Time and Part-Time available depending on location.

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have current, full and unrestricted license to practice as medicine in the US
Preference for Board Certification (BC) in Psychiatry Specialty, but Board Eligible Applicants will also be considered

Benefits and Features

The expected Salary range for A well qualified BC Psychiatrist will range from $220,000.00 to $264,000.00 and includes industry-leading full benefits and features package to support high-quality professional practice and favorable work-life-family balance.
