PIH Health General Surgery Department is seeking a Full-Time Board Certified Breast Surgeon to join our Whittier Team. The Breast Surgeon, with a focus on breast surgical oncology, coordinates a course of treatment for patients with a variety of benign and malignant breast diseases while working with an interdisciplinary team of general surgeons, plastic surgeons, breast radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other ancillary professionals. The Breast Surgeon will act as an expert in the diagnosis and preoperative, operative, and postoperative treatment of diseases and injuries of the breast. May occasionally be required to perform general surgery.

Demonstrated expertise in Breast Surgery and General Surgery diagnoses: assessment, intervention, and patient care management.
Knowledgeable regarding Breast Surgery and General Surgery scope of practice.
Graduate from an accredited Breast or Surgical Oncology Fellowship program preferred.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
Ability to consult for Breast Surgery and General Surgery patients within 24 hours of request
Experience performing and interpreting Breast Surgery and General Surgery procedures
Current, unrestricted California medical license
MD or DO
Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA approved residency program in General Surgery
Board Certification from American Board of Surgery, board certified or board eligible.
Prior experience as a practicing clinician, with experience in performing and interpreting [list procedures, etc.] prefe
